I wasn listening to the radio or pop music when I made the record,ö Bertie
explains.ôI went into another world.ö This time around, Bertie traded her
guitars for keyboards, exploring the electronic world. dark, she
says,but also a pop record. It good to make a pop record.ö Bertie smiles. ôI
think m a little nuttier after this experience. But making this album was a
cathartic experience.

Berties debut album, 2004Æs Headway (featuring her radio breakthrough single
Favourite Jeans), was a folk-inspired adventure, powered by Berties acoustic
guitar. The follow-up, 2006Æs Black, saw Bertie armed with an electric guitar
and delivering some grittier sounds.
