Martin Dawson – Sunday Smoking Remixes [MOOD100] ~ Release Notes

To celebrate the 100th single release and 15 successful years in the biz, Sasse’s Moodmusic brings you the first single from the forthcoming Martin Dawson album “Sunday Smoking”.

Having just started releasing under his own name in 2010, ‘Sunday Smoking’ is the release that develops the growing relationship between Martin and Moodmusic.

Martin released his first album ‘Chapters’ as King Roc in 2009 with critical acclaim and the success of this was highlighted with the nomination for best producer and best artist album in DJ mag. Also known as one half of Two Armadillos, you can hear the influence working with Giles has had on Martin’s sound and by the time this LP drops it will have seen a 12 month period with Martin releasing with some the most respected underground labels such as Cocoon, Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels, 2020vision, Kling Klong, Off and of course Moodmusic.

Sunday Smoking was first featured on the Nightstarter 8 compilation in late 2010 and gained great dj-support from the likes of Chymera, Kolombo, Tim Sweeney, Nick Warren and James Teej among others.

Jay Shepheard brings us one of his trademark journeys of deep yet driving beats, shuffling arpeggiated synths and the original bassline, building a solid basement stomper, showing Jays impeccable taste in the fine art of remixing.

Martin ́s own dub takes things more uptempo, bringing Detroit influences and a mean bassline to a peak hour climax.

As an bonus we have The Return, featuring as well as one of the last tracks on the album, a detroit odyssey of finest order. Shuffled 909 and a massive synth build-up takes the dancer on a techy ride of finest order.
