Edition of 150** Reel Torque Volume 4 features an hour of insanely heady dancefloor power from Delroy Edwards recorded recently at home in LA, California. Practically clipping the heels of his outstanding ‘Teenage Tapes’ album for The Death Of Rave, it’s a free-styling, deftly mixed selection of choice Chicago jakk trax, ’80s boogie, obscure drum edits and Detroit techno sequenced to be blasted from massive boomboxes and low-riders on the corner. The idea for Delroy’s mix was first proposed after Reel Torque witnessed him blend Mark Leckey’s ‘Green Screen Refrigerator’ (the B-side to the vinyl of ‘Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore’) and a Levon Vincent track for ten minutes in a sweaty Manc rave cave on his 2013 European tour. There’s no tracklist here – the spotters will have a payday picking it apart – but it’s safe to say; this cat fxxcking knows his business. Don’t sleep!
