Cosmobox Direct DownloadsHaving debuted on Tony Scott’s Edit Select label with “Typhon”, the Avian co-founder Ventress returns here in remixed-by-noted-contemporaries fashion. In original format, Ventress’s production was that most intriguing of techno oxymorons – the subtle peak time number. In the hands of Semantica boss Svreca, there are still notable remnants of the track’s DNA, not least the underplayed filters, and Svreca also reins in the original’s growling menace with stripped-back, heads down results. Anonymous Swedish artist Abdullah Rashim takes a similar approach, though his production has a notably murkier finish to it. Recommended!
