Here, the ever-reliable Willie Burns joins forces with Jordan GCZ – he of Juju & Jordash and Off Minor Recordings repute – for a trip into otherworldly deep house territory on Second Circle, the new sub label from the excellent Music From Memory crew. “Fanatic 1” is particularly intriguing, with a pulsating, sub-heavy bassline and sparse, spacey synth melodies riding a crusty, Afro-influenced techno groove. “Fanatic II” flips the script, peppering a click-heavy deep house groove with watery electronics and fuzzy melodies. Finally, “Untitled” sounds like a more stripped back take on the tropical analogue house sound of Protect-U; it’s certainly every bit as exotic.
