‘Steyoyoke Black‘ – the new sub label from Steyoyoke, has finally launched its debut EP. Focusing toward a darker, slightly more techno driven sound, the label has evolved from the success of her big sister and creates a new doorway as techno returns to the electronic scene. Young Italian Skena is officially the first artist to put forth their seamless production skills, dragging ‘Steyoyoke Black’ straight into the the spot light.
‘The New Act‘ is the EP’s title track and it wastes no time at all in setting the ‘Steyoyoke Black’ standard nice and high. With plenty of chunk, its clean crisp and in your face, whilst at the same time mesmerising to the ears, with its stark percussion and progressive beats.
The second track is called ‘Waiting in The Wings‘ and instantly it hits you with a relentless drive and some solid grunt. Skena layers this with insane soundscapes and instrumental licks that infect you with goosebumps. This little masterpiece dips, dives and invades your mind from all sides.
