Diverse techno murder from UK’s Witch duo backed with Shifted and Truss remixes on the 1st release from Happa and Al Gill’s Part Five Records. From the heads-down, rugged approach to their noisily visceral production values, Witch’s original tracks stand as prime examples of the new techno skool, differentiated from former classes by their more ascetic, blistered style. The A-side is a spring-loaded industrial kicker packing proper heat which is channelled into a more funked-up, carefully stuttering remix by Truss. B-side, they come on like AFX’s ‘Elephant Song’ with the strobing alarm stabs and crushed breakbeat techno torque of ‘S2 S2007’, which undergoes a drastic dread reduction at the hands of Shifted.
