There’s something decidedly vibrant about the topsy-turvy house music delivered by hotly tipped Croydon producer Lxury (AKA young producer Andy Smith). Having already impressed with the superb Playground EP on Greco Roman, he returns with an expansive six-track set that gleefully defies categorization. While there’s a constant style throughout – woozy, floor-friendly and off-kilter – each track has its own distinctive feel and approach. So, while there are certified floor-fillers – most obviously the surging “Pick You Up”, footwork-inspired “World 2” and Julio Bashmore-ish “Equals” – Smith also treats us to a dash of kaleidoscopic dream pop (“Square 1”) and some fluid, effervescent new age house (“Everywhere”).
