Having worked with the likes of Trentemoller, The Toxic Avenger, Modeselektor, The Suicide of Western Culture, etc. Barcelona-based artist Brunetto continues his musical prowess with the release of three addictive remixes. Brunetto, who also runs Freelastica & Miracle as press manager having is additionally a very well-known music writer in Spain (Clubbingspain, Go-Magazine, MedWinds, Denso, CLONE, LaMilk, etc).

The Remixes follow on from the release of his highly anticipated 4th studio album released this spring: Brunetto “Sheroine” (Irregular, 2014). An album inspired by his love of comic books and fantasies that pays homage to Brunetto´s favourite musical decade so far, the 90’s (UNKLE, Death in Vegas, Orbital, Skint records, The Dust Brothers…).

The first track is from one of the wicked young talents of the current European electronic scene, Berlin-based artist Ioan Gamboa (whose debut album, “Vibrations” was also released this year). Gamboa best skills are reflected on his “Kuklinski” remix (yep, that one dedicated to the infamous NYC mafia´s hit man). One lined with sparkling vocal and trancy samples, kept steady by a spare-but-effective series of deep kicks and an unbeatable wall of warm-blooded grit.

The second track is a remix of “Evergreen”, the first single to be released from “Sheroine” (feat. I AM DIVE). Film-score atmospheres, drama bass, sci-fi, puzzling pop and lo-fi, airy techno that still maintains a vintage flavour are the main ingredients for this “Grey Scale Rework” Brunetto did it himself. This track encompasses both the beautiful and the mysterious in cosmic e-pop music.

Then lastly the ‘light’ at the end of the tunnel: Usmev’s remix of “Cinnamon”. Xavier Altés (his real name) signifies the arrival of warmer melodies for an uplifting closer. An elegant and transparent blend of house and disco. A club-rooted track into a more pensive affair. Usmev blends precise deep rhythms with an array of swimming textures. It’s a gentle housey treat that moves at just the right pace.
