Following the international success of his critically acclaimed debut LP Drone Logic, which boasted inclusion in several ‘Album of The Year’ lists from the likes of Q Magazine, Mojo and The Times through to Mixmag and DJ, and also topped Beatport’s best selling electronic acts of 2014, Daniel Avery has announced details of his next album release.

An impressive roster of producers were invited to reconstruct and reinvent tracks from Drone Logic– the result of which being the impending New Energy [Collected Remixes], released on Phantasy 2nd March 2015.

Avery himself has all the while been honing his individual repertoire as a masterful DJ; showcased in his monthly Rinse FM slot and during his expertly curated Divided Love residencies at the likes of Paris’ Rex Club, Lyon’s Le Sucre and London’s Fabric – these lucrative environments allowing for the evolution of his taste, of which New Energy [Collected Remixes] is a natural extension.

The analogue experimentations of Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey kick-starts proceedings via a re-working of track Drone Logic, whilst Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve bring one of their renowned re-animations to ‘New Energy’ to bookend the first side of the record. In between, a staple of club and festival setlists throughout 2014 in KINK’s cosmic and overwhelming remix of ‘Knowing We’ll Be Here’ features, alongside Roman Flugel’s massively acclaimed deeply trippy version of ‘All I Need’ – all before Perc takes a typically sledgehammer approach to ‘Reception’ on the flip-side, creating a high energy monster of metal and acid. Today, Avery premieres Berliner Rødhåd’s remix of ‘Drone Logic’.

Capping on a remarkably productive 2014, which saw Avery tour in both the US and Canada, as well as perform much-revered sets at a slew of European festivals including London’s Field Day, Barcelona’s Primavera and Croatia’s Hideout and also compile an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, New Energy brings Daniel Avery into the new year with a bang.
