“Samuel Andre Madsen’s occasional releases on his Delaphine imprint – seemingly solely established as an outlet for his particular brand of mind-altering house and techno fusion – are becoming collector’s items. Finding copies of the first three releases, which variously touched on dub techno, ambient, deep house and Motor City flavours, seems fiendishly difficult. Whether or not this fourth installment goes the same way remains to be seen, but it’s another woozy, locked-in excursion. While yearning and full of subtle touches, “Track 1” is a bumping, hypnotic, deep house delight. “Track 2” is, if anything, even deeper in feel, with bubbling electronics and swirling chords adding emotion to his typically on-point beats.
