Valpy returns to Skeleton with his unique approach to the sound and the title track is a testament to that, with subtle melodic fragments setting the mood, while a stripped-down arrangement and discordant riffs come into play, together with dubbed-out percussion. On the aptly titled “Grind” droned-out synths hold the vibe down perfectly, letting the hats pay homage to the title and mysterious chords intertwine with the juicy bass. The closing “Together” continues in the same vein with percussive leads, shadowy pads, and spooky shakes and rattles, giving off an almost thriller-ques feel.
