Audiojack’s imprint hits its 67th release, encompassing the styles Mirco Caruso as he débuts on Gruuv with a three-track release. Mirco has been picking up bits of attention and has had various plays throughout stations and clubs around the globe over the last 18 months.
The track ‘Boxx’ is a techy number that is not too dissimilar from the likes of Scientific Funk or some of the tracks from the Something Different music label. The bassline is deep and low, setting the rhythm for this simple yet effective track. The various vocal hits blend suitably with the various sounds that glide around the spectrum, providing a pace that leaves you suitably nodding along.
‘Metro Mode’ is where things get serious and is definitely my preference of the two. The overall feel is encapsulating and hard to disdain from as the groove chomps along from one bar to the next. It’s a simple recipe of chuntering basslines, sporadic changes in drum patterns and various sounds that fill the scope and create an uncomplicated medley that is impossible to ignore.

The initial track is lacking a certain something that makes it stand out from the crowd. However the release really does come to life once the second cut is approached. It’s worth your pennies just for this one alone.
