Fresh off the back of his ‘Raver’ ep for Josh Wink’s seminal Ovum Recordings label, Israeli artist Gel Abril now readies his debut for Joris Voorn & Edwin Oosterwal’s Rejected. ‘Contemporary Thoughts’ is a 3 track salvo that takes inspiration from playing under the stars.

“It’s been a busy summer season for me” says Gel. “I’ve been blessed to play at some very special open air venues and to some amazing crowds. In those surroundings, with no walls or ceilings, there is always a special ambience. A sense of freedom and happiness that you just don’t get in a normal club.”

Gel has harnessed the electric atmosphere from each of these wild environments and channelled it into three new productions. Both Contemporary Thoughts and New Dawn are deep, cosmic and melodic gems, sandwiching the piercing tracky groove of Things I Remember.
