Man of the moment Dennis Cruz arrives at New Violence with this latest offering in collaboration with the returning Spencer K. Dennis has spent much of 2016 firmly lodged in the Beatport charts with releases on Suruba, Material, Suara and his own label Lemon-Aid while Spencer has been busy with releases on top flight labels 8bit, Defected, Glasgow Underground & Stereo.
We start with the title track Last Night. There’s no frills here folks as the duo go straight for the jugular from the off. Thumping insistent drums and a driving bassline power this track forward towards a pretty huge breakdown. This is peak time dance floor and will be causing mayhem everywhere. Simple as that.
Talented Italian duo The Deepshakerz are first up on remix duties. The guys have had some great releases on the likes of Stereo, Suara, Cajual and their own Safe Music label. They take the energy levels down a notch and concentrate on building a cool groove. Making full use of the vocal sample and also bringing some nice percussion to keep things ticking over. Quality stuff.
Finally we have Gallya’s remix. The talented Bulgarian is part of the Set About crew who are doing such great things right now and New Violence Records are delighted to welcome her to the family.. She brings the energy back big time, taking the original on a stripped down techno journey. A modular synth drifts in and out over the kind of bassline that will make peoples heads fall off. A proper dance floor beast.
