Since their debut Deeperfect EP earlier this year Alexandros Djkevingr and Greg Ignatovich have had a slamming EP on the legendary Great Stuff Recordings from Germany as well as a track on Stefano Noferini’s Club Editions Summer 2018 compilation. When you add this to their already stunning releases with labels like Diynamic, Suara and Elrow it is clear to see why this talented pair of Greek producers are quickly rising in the ranks of global DJ’s!
First up we have ‘23 GOAT’, a quirky name for a track which is going to make basketball fans and sneaker heads smile. Track names aside, Alexandros Djkevingr and Greg Ignatovich deliver a punchy tech house jam which has a stripped back feeling and tribal edge. Their signature synth work is immediately evident with pulsing sixteenth note bass and building synth lines creating intensity throughout the track. Our label stalwart Natch steps up on remix duty to inject ‘23 GOAT’ with a dose of his consistently quality production skills. He keeps the vibe of the original but brings a more rolling and syncopated delivery to his interpretation. Lush pads and deep atmospheric FX create a hypnotic depth and lushness that play off the shuffling percussion groove.
Finally we have ‘Booby’ which rounds out the release perfectly with a chunky tech house floor filler. This time Alexandros Djkevingr and Greg Ignatovich add more pace and swing to the hats and some lush grittiness to the drums which amps up the energy. Here they opt for a rolling bass line and use their synthesizer mastery to bring intense analogue sweeps of tension and release.
