More From This Label

Making his debut on DPE we bring you a new three track EP from Luca Lento. The Palermo based DJ and producer is no stranger to us though, having a couple of releases on DPE’s sister label Deeperfect under his belt as well as being highlighted by Stefano Noferini as an artist to follow carefully. Luca Lento has a vast discography behind him and has has released with some exceptional labels including Clarisse Records, Little Helpers, Insert Coin and Lemon Aid Music. Those familiar with Luca Lento’s productions with immediately recognise his classy minimal sound with it’s fine detailed production work and edgy dacefloor appeal.
The opening track ‘Gaming Draw’ is a heavy minimal beast with serious attitude and a techno touch. The drums and percussion are crisp and stripped back, while a deep sub bass gives the track furrious drive and energy. Unique FX sounds and ripping synth swells bring tension and atmosphere to this main room bomb.
‘L’Çcharde’ brings a more grooving, dubby vibe, while keeping with the minimal sound that Luca Lento is known for. Organic percussion grooves give a low slung bounce which is backed up by a deep pulsing sub and subtle melody which is tucked nicely into the background beside a spoken word vocal.
On ‘Much Mind’ Luca Lento opts for a bouncing tech house groove to create a warm energy, while still keeping inline with his minimal aesthetic. Chunky, swung percussion grooves ride high while a grooving sub bassline creates syncopation on the low end. As usual, Luca Lento’s intricate attention to detail is on full display with subtle percussion fills and FX through to manipulated vocal samples and tense synth swells which tear through the speakers.
