Based in Tallinn, Estonia, young up-and-comer Andreas Kask offers up the inaugural release on new London based imprint X-Kalay. Due 28th December 2015.

Hot on the heels of his emotive three tracker for Amsterdam based imprint, Legendary Sound Research, Kask continues here in a similar vein. Saturated in machine warmth, we are taken on an unerring journey through the analogue deep. Soundscapes shot through with the warm emotion and raw melancholy hues of a new Tallinn dawn.

On the A-side, “Periferia” opens with the heaviest of grooves, deep kicks and distorted toms punch out a deadly rhythm before we reach a blissed out jam. Only to be used on the latest of floors. “Orion Cloud Complex” is all euphoria and washed out vocals with a nod to early Joy O and reminiscent of something found deep inside Pepe Bradock’s record bag.

On the flip “Untitled” is the ethereal trip, transcending space and time with it’s skittering hats andweightless pads. Estonian hero and long time stalwart of the Tallinn underground; Ajukaja hits up the remix with typical aplomb. Through an intro of cut up vocals from a distant land he leads us into the smoothest of house grooves. This one is fire!
