German artist Reboot is back on his home label with another fantastic EP, just before he mixes the upcoming Amsterdam Gets Physical album.

Reboot’s innovative tech house has landed on Get Physical since 2016 in the form of two Eps and one excellent full length. Before that he amassed a fine discography of expertly designed, infectious grooves on labels like Cadenza, Defected and Cocoon. A real master of rhythm and percussion, Reboot’s sound is always subtly evolving and this new four-tracker is another fine case in point.

Opening the account is the shadowy ‘Findel’, a long and spellbinding track with dark synths and intricate percussive lines. It’s alien and abstract and keeps the pressure up for ten full minutes. Then comes the more uplifting, subtly transcendental ‘Endis’, with celestial chords bringing real emotion to Reboot’s tightly woven rhythms as the rubbery drums continue to up the ante throughout.

Showing yet another side is the excellent ‘Allout’, with its frazzled synths and involving drum loops all working to lock you into the groove and trip you out with weird effects and sound designs. Last of all is the soulful house of ‘Make Up’, which is warm, deep and blissful as it encourages you to cast your mind free and get lost in the distant vocals and lush, dreamy chords.

This is a versatile and vital EP from one of dance music’s real driving forces.
