About Clint Stewart, Martin Eyerer & Stephan Hinz
Clint Stewart is a San Francisco-based producer and DJ who has released on Electrobuzz since 2014. His sound spans peak time techno and tech house across labels including Terminal M and Watergate Records.
German DJ and producer Martin Eyerer founded the Kling Klong and Session Deluxe labels while working as a mastering engineer. His tech house and driving techno releases appear on Rejected, leena music, and Tenampa Recordings, spanning 108 releases from 2009 to 2017.
Berlin-based German DJ and producer Stephan Hinz has released 14 tracks since 2013, also performing under the aliases DJ Hinx and Shin. His peak time techno and tech house productions appear on respected labels including Intec, Second State, Suara, and Watergate Records.
With the second part of the exclusives from the Watergate 17 CD mixed by Pan-Pot, we see three artists that have close ties to the duo and all reside in the Riverside Studios complex just steps from the club’s front door.
First up is Martin Eyerer. A name already well known in the world of dance music, he delivers a stormer with ‘Reckless’. Driving drums and a building snare roll keep the energy at a maximum while a descending bass tone creates a passionate attachment for the dance floor. It’s the perfect unity of
danceability and emotion rolled into one cohesive theme.
Next up is one of the core artists of Pan-Pot’s new imprint Second State, Stephan Hinz. With ‘Hungry’ he hosts a clinic on how to maintain the intricate balance between the realms of techno and house with big rolling drums and vintage keys. We’ve heard the keys countless times before, but it takes someone with a level of skill far beyond the average producer to make it feel like it’s the first time all over again. A perfect composition, this is the track that can make the crowd go over the edge and save the dance floor. Or, both at the same time.
Finally, to round up the EP, we have another member of the Second State family, Clint Stewart. ‘Drenched’ is a track that can be utilized under the club lights or beneath the sun and stars. The lo-fi drums chug along while a lead reminiscent of the sounds of old Chicago take over and slowly a bass line that mirrors the lead becomes apparent. As the break nears, a spacey synth circles around and around to forge all the elements into a solid, unified composition.
