About AJ Christou, Frank Storm & Robert Owens
AJ Christou is a Manchester-based producer who has released 24 tracks since 2015 across labels including Hot Creations, Rawthentic, and Wow! Recordings. His output spans tech house and minimal deep tech, with releases on V-House Sound and Boogeyman showcasing his house-focused approach.
Frank Storm is the alias of Tawanna Dabney, producing tech house and techno since 2017. The project delivers driving peak-time techno and minimal deep tech across labels including Hot Creations, Hottrax, and serialism records.
Chicago house vocalist Robert Owens, born Robert James Owens in 1961, formed Fingers Inc. with Larry Heard in the mid-1980s and runs Musical Directions label. His deep house and tech house productions appear on Kling Klong, Open Bar Music, and Mother Recordings, spanning vocal house to organic downtempo across 86 releases since 2010.
For the second release on his newly formed Crunch imprint, Italian artist Frank Storm teams up with Celesta boss AJ Christou on a three track split-release which includes a collaboration with legendary US house vocalist, Robert Owens.
‘Breathing On You’ kicks off the pack with effervescent grooves fused with playful melodies and enticing vocals from Robert Owens before Frank Storm’s ‘Tripped’ lays down raw, fluttering percussion and rubbery synths. AJ Christou then rounds off the EP with his ‘We Play’ cut which layers snaking bass patterns, slick drums and infectious vocal snippets.//
