Truncate is the alias of US producer David Flores, who launched the project in 2011 and runs the label of the same name. His output spans deep and raw techno alongside tech house, with releases on CLR, Blueprint Records, 50 Weapons, and Ultramajic.
On an invitation to travel to India in 2019, as part of the global BUDX event series as documented by Vice Media, Truncate finds himself in Hyderabad, bustling technology capital and birthplace of Biryani.
Joining him for the week is emerging Indian producer Dotdat, representing the rising techno scene in this most diverse and populous country. The pair found themselves exchanging culture and of course music over a few days spent in Windhorse Studios, resulting in a unique collaboration of the West Coast meets the Southeast that transpired into the singular style showcased on their EP “HYD”//
