To open the EP Rachel treats us to the spectacular title track ‘Pineapple’. A thumping deep, minimal, melodic roller, fusing chord stabs with string ensembles and clinical percussion. The driving lead line of ‘Pineapple’ pared with Rachel’s trademark beat manipulation culminates into a club inspired piece of house music for the ages. ‘Pineapple’ is an energetic piece of music to get you in the mood.
To close out his amazing two-tracker, Rachel teamed up with fellow German duo Krüger + Meyer to bring us ‘Twiggle’; an irresistible monster techno track. The trio used deep and driving elements to perfection to create this floor burner. Rachel & the boys layer more percussions and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed drumming and their trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of this techno monster. Their work on ‘Twiggle’ deserves to be branded ‘essential’ for any techno loving music connoisseur.
