“Erykah Badu’s “On & On” is one of my favourite songs from the 90s. Her voice is pure gold. Producers have sampled it a gazillion times, although, mostly, they are making hip-hop. A few house producers have run it through the sample, my favourite being Chopstick & Johnjon’s “What A Day” on SUOL. So when Ruben Mandolini chopped it up and sent it in, I was keen to release it for two reasons. Firstly, his version is a stone-cold banger, and, secondly, I could get my hands on the vocal.
