About Rowetta & Vaxx
Rowetta Idah is an English singer from Manchester who has released 14 electronic music tracks since 2017. She produces tech house and techno for labels including Circus Recordings, Toolroom, and Ultra.
Vaxx is the moniker of Marcos Vasquez, a producer who has released nine tracks across tech house and minimal deep tech since 2019. His music appears on labels including Glasgow Underground, New Violence Records, Paul's Boutique, Low:Res, and 303Lovers.
We are delighted to welcome Rowetta to Glasgow Underground. The Happy Mondays member and former X-Factor star is a bona fide dance music legend. Her voice has been a continual presence in nightclubs since her first release (with Sweet Mercy – “Reach Out”) back in 1990. Its iconic Acappella has been sampled over 20 times and featured on some landmark dance music. Slam’s incredible “Eterna” from 1991 was the first. Since then, Steve Angello, Klangkeunstler and Todd Terry have employed cuts from it in their hits. Even the Black Eyed Peas have sampled her!
Here she teams up with Toronto Tech-house specialist Vaxx to deliver a stirring call back to the dancefloor (something I think we can all agree we need!).//
