Room Trax is glad to welcome a young guy from Italy to the label catalog: No.name. Having released his first tracks in the past months, his productions have already made their way into many DJ’s libraries from some of the most respected crafters of today’s circuit. His signature touch on the modern fast and hypnotic style of Techno lands on Room to present Ground Floor EP, a four-tracker completed with two dark, groovy reworks from Nicolas Vogler and Dott. The first track on the EP which gives name to the release, “Ground Floor,” is an accurate statement of what to expect from no. name: rawness, percussions, and hypnotism. On remix duties we find Nicolas Vogler, who presents a less ‘threatening’ version of “Ground Floor”, a remix with a certainly festive yet serious vibe to it. “Raw Thoughts”, with its clever clap and rides workout from No.name, is a very convenient DJ weapon for peak time hours. On “Echoes”, the artist shows a more bouncy and groovy take on his own sound, with really well-placed reverse effects before the drops slap you right in the face with its combination of closed and open hats along with claps. Indian rising force Dotdat submits his vision on the original, speeding the pace and the intensity up, while also adding his own elements and retouches such as a vocal-like sound, making a whole different interpretation on its own. Putting an end to the EP, ‘Vanilla’ is a truly effective powerhouse that puts a perfect end to the first release of the year for Room Trax.//
