‘The ‘Get Familiar’ EP represents another one of Nala’s ventures into spoken word dance music. The title track ‘Get Familiar’ is a hypnotizing chant about our collective desire for love and our fear of letting people know about it. Set to E.R.N.E.S.T.O’s skillfully produced acid house instrumental, the song translates well onto the dancefloor of both big room clubs and underground raves. Get Familiar also comes with a second mix that more aptly resonates with Nala’s indie-dance, dark disco approach to music.
On their second track, God Complex, Nala questions authority and mocks the ego of celebrity God complexes. A more classic tech-house take, the song reflects both artists’ Dirtybird upbringing and their connection as artists within dance music’//
