Moodymanc is Danny Ward, a British DJ and producer based in Manchester whose name pays tribute to Moodymann. He produces deep house, tech house, and minimal deep tech across labels including Well Cut Records, Exploited, Kolour Recordings, and Gartenhaus.
Danny Ward is back under his ‘Moodymanc’ monniker with a release that defintely betrays his roots as a jazz drummer and savvy DJ alike.
“BOOM BOOM BOOM” is built on a thunderous groove of rolling drums and percussion which develops with evolving arpeggiating staccato synths to a breakdown with snippets taken from a record store conversation about the politics and roots of House music between three very well known DJ producers.
