With Ethyéne returning from a long break from music, it was only right to hear from the main man himself ahead of his ‘Ethyène’s Resort’ EP.
“I wanted Ethyène’s resort to be a humble but sincere invitation to the listeners to come spend a relaxing and fairy time in my own world.
First track ‘Love is such a beautiful thing’ is an enchanting house tune with a never ending progressive groove topped by a naive but beautiful vocal sample.
Second track ‘Bread of the Desert’ is a dancefloor heater made from an underground soul sample. Aggressive hats, slapped bassline, fairy strings loop and badass vocals that remembers us of some of the Ugly Edits by Theo Parrish, record that’s been influencing me for a long time.
Third track ‘Heaven Sand’ is the first I produced chronologically and had me wanting to do this whole EP. It gets an old school city pop vibe in the beginning with reverberated synths that slowly turns into something more Miami influenced thanks to the arpeggiator. Like a global signature to this EP, the track ends with a looped vocal sample that makes you instantly feel good.
The last track, Palermo Nostalgia, has been produced during a trip in Sicily with my girlfriend and reflects the mood in which I was at this moment, happy, enjoying life but not forgetting that troubles could be back. Joy and pain are like sunshine and rain.”
