Nachtwaker – Absent Mind EP on Knowledge Imprint – An Underground Gem

Young, rising Dutch artist Nachtwaker makes his debut on Knowledge Imprint with a mature, sci-fi techno expedition with tools for any time of the night. Opening the EP is Remind Me Again, a slow building composition that eventually leads into an off-kilter beat with dark, hypnotic undertones and swirling hats. With similar characteristics comes Valid Request, albeit this time with a classic undulating four-to-the-floor pattern which closes out the A-Side trip. Currents picks up right where the A-Side left off. Maintaining the brooding energy, this track turns up the dial for the peak time with panning synth stabs and driving rhythms. Chromatic Pulse is likewise centred on galloping synth stabs, but this time employs a hip-shaking low-end groove to round out the EP out on a high.
