Behind the Deep House : Release Notes
After a short hiatus, were happy to welcome back one of our favorite producers, Tom Sirztes aka Shur-I-Kan. Since 2009, Tom has been a fixture on the label, with 8 EPs plus exclusives, collaborations and remixes. You can expect new solo material from him on Lazy Days this year, but in the meantime, we have a new collaborative project with Fred Everything. The pair worked together in the past on projects for Tsuba Records and Lazy Days. Tom is a classically trained keyboard player and Composition X is based on one of his original composition. Originally sent as a basic demo, Fred reworked it by adding beats, keys and additional production. The original mix is based around a main strummed chord theme, backed by an upright bass, strings and a solid rhythm section. The Dub was created as a bonus beat idea where one of the drum machines triggered a chord on the Juno 60, which inspired a whole new version. The Reprise is just what you would expect, a shorter, mostly beatless version highlighting the main part of the composition.

About Fred Everything & Shur-I-Kan – Deep House Artists
Frédéric Blais is a Quebec-based DJ and producer who operates under the Fred Everything moniker and runs Lazy Days Recordings and Lazy Days Music. His deep house productions span labels including Defected, Drumpoet Community, and Atjazz Record Company, with 57 releases on Electrobuzz since 2012.
London-based producer Tom Szirtes releases house music under the Shur-I-Kan alias, also recording as Seer Tesh and Lost. His sound spans deep house to Afro house with releases on Lazy Days Music, delivering both jackin house grooves and organic downtempo tracks.
