Kit Grill unveils his most dancefloor-focussed material to date with Opal, an EP of profound space and velocity that cycles through exhilarating, precision-built techno, sun-streaked rave euphoria, unrelenting industrial minimalism and more. Music for fast-paced days, long nights, and heavyweight soundsystems. From the off, Grill is in uncompromising form, hurtling into the scintillating grime loops, delirious hardcore tempo and pure techno brutalism of the title track. Its a far cry from the beguiling leftfield synth pop of his 2023 album Swimming in Honey – bringing to mind the wired free techno rush of Conrad Pack and Leeway – but still sounds remarkably like Grill.
