TAU welcomes another talented artist to the family with the arrival of Deer Jade, a multifaceted DJ and producer whose artistry aligns with the TAU ethos. Incorporating melodic elements, along with inspirations from deeper cultural narratives and mythology, Deer Jade has released with Innervisions, Kompakt and Diynamic among others, performing at Burning Man (Mayan Warrior), Space Miami, Fusion Festival, and many other high-profile events. Her style is inspired by countless hours spent on the dance floor, where the intersection between physical, social and spiritual energy can be so healing and transformative. The Catch Me EP features two original cuts, plus a rework from the Adana Twins themselves… Opening with the title track, were immediately treated to a funky bassline, which hooks us in straight away. As the track progresses Deer Jade introduces flourishes of synth, before an ominous melody finally takes shape. This leads us into a stirring vocal, full of hope, love and optimism. It sounds vintage, yet modern, evoking a range of emotions. In the second half, the energy increases, with subtle strings and even more emotive vocal delivery. Next up label heads Adana Twins add their own twist on Catch Me, cultivating a wonderfully deep atmosphere. The piano keys combine with an emotionally charged atmosphere – strings, pads and twinkling effects provide a bright and heartfelt backdrop to the main vocals. This is one for the lovers, best friends and anyone who feels the immersive love of the dance floor. Hypnotism closes out the EP. This driving cut has a dense low end, and techy elements that would be the perfect accompaniment to a vibrant dance floor, moving and shaking under the moonlight. The energy builds steadily, as Deer Jade adds new layers. Eventually it comes to a crescendo, where the breakdown invigorates the track even more. We move into a heady section of the cut, with uplifting pads and that oh-so-groovy bass taking us through to the end. Magic. Deer Jade brings that melodic desert energy to TAU in fine style!
