Seagulls is the latest seven-track LP by the acclaimed producer Eitan Reiter and the fourth release on his label ESC. Eitan shapes the album into a definitive artistic statement, collaborating with visionaries like Sebastian Mullaert (Minilogue, Wa Wu We) and Simon Posford (Shpongle, Hallucinogen), whose presence deepens and broadens the albums sonic landscape. The record opens with Until My Last Breath, shaped by layered synth leads and arpeggiated sequences rooted in new wave traditions. Its structure balances melodic openness with rhythmically driven sections, laying the groundwork for the tonal contrasts that recur throughout the album. Birds Eye View shifts into faster territory, built on transposing basslines and minimal drum patterns arranged with precision. The piece integrates classic drum machine textures and sparse, functional instrumentation to deliver a tightly structured production with hints of early trance and retro electronica.live drums by Aviv Cohen The title work, Seagulls, explores ambient composition through field recordings and evolving soundscapes. The seagull sounds are processed and embedded within a wide sonic frame, suggesting open movement across undefined space. Casio lines by Barak Rosen See What I See (Tribal Remix) reinterprets a 2010 composition, extending its original motifs into new rhythmic territory. The result is a sound piece connecting the ritual and dance vibes, nodding toward mid-90s melodic syntax. Missing returns Eitan to the roots with stripped-back drum programming and a focus on functional rhythm. The work reflects an ongoing relationship with classic electro idioms, previously explored through his label Impulse. 4 Minutes and Flute appears here in an edit by Swedish producer Sebastian Mullaert, whose version emphasizes repetition and subtle harmonic modulation, bringing additional depth and space to the original material while maintaining its minimal core. Flute by Barak Rosen The final entry, Seagulls Pt. 2, was crafted in collaboration with Simon Posford, a pioneering force in electronic music renowned for his innovative work. The composition relies on minimal piano phrases and elegant background noises, suggesting transition, departure, or quiet resolution. Eitan Reiter closes the album with a confident statement of intent, reinforcing his position as a forward-thinking artist at the height of his creative range.
