Whilst much of the attention around Kate Stein & Lord Fascinators Primary EP has focused on the raucous cowboy disco of Horse House and Asteroids festival ready joyful melodies, its time for the EPs closer, Le Petit Martien to get its moment in the strobe light courtesy of a new remix from Mehmet Aslan and with its intergalactic western vibe and Morriconeesque guitar twangs Le Petit Martien is a perfect track for the eclectic Swiss-Turkish producer to work with. Having made his name with imaginative fusions of electronic, ambient, experimental and folk music, all of that is again on display here as Aslan pairs the originals western aesthetics with a disorientating beat and a writhing acidic melody that snakes its way through the song. Hypnotic and disarming effect in equal measure, its the ideal track to reach for when the club is ready to get a little a little deeper and a lot weirder.
