The EP thrives on motion: intricate yet uncluttered, stripped-down but always dynamic. Rhythm is the glue here, with each track carefully structured to maintain a constant pulse while allowing space for texture to breathe. The title track, Rush of Essence, sets the tone with wide panning layers and a driving 4×4 kick anchoring the mix. Below, a rolling low-end adds weight, making it a sleek and effective DJ tool for the floor. Sabre Cats picks up the baton and injects a touch of mischief, pushing the groove further through tight percussion and a recurring bleep motif that gives the track its playful edge. On Second Blow, Jiho turns toward a funkier terrain, channeling Detroit-inspired chords and warmer harmonic shifts. Theres a swing here—an almost cheeky tilt to the progression—that contrasts well with the releases otherwise mechanical intensity. The closing track Supply Deplot brings things full circle, returning to a deeper, heads-down aesthetic.
