Pr0xima is a queer artist, producer and live performer based in Portland, Oregon, known for boldly playing with listeners expectations. The Compulsory EP exemplifies her electrifying approach to techno with two distinctive originals, Compulsory and Parity. Compulsory is pure machine music loaded with grinding rhythms, modulating percussion, and distinctive change-ups. The title track is remixed by Seattle-based producer and live performer Aria Bare, who delivers an absolutely slamming, groove-heavy rework. Parity is an ever-evolving percussive techno beast with big modulating drums, big surprises and even bigger energy. SubSensory label boss JAK rounds out the EP with his Parity Drum Edit, reworking the originals compelling percussion in a simplified arrangement.
