Next up on Kuukou is a single from factory of tricks and master of surprises – the Hamburg based Lampé. Lampé recalls a fond dance floor moment, playing to an open air crowd in Switzerland who were challenged by heavy rainfall. After loosening up and falling under his spell, the crowd discarded their shoes and raved on regardless of the conditions. This stands in his memory as a pure example of the unifying powers of music and its this spirit that is channeled into the aptly titled Drop Your Shoes. The track is sharp, potent but playful as it sends fanged synth stabs over a propulsive prog bass line. Steely tones and angular stabs build in layers as pressure mounts through magnetic rises that suck energy inwards. Attention is repeatedly drawn inwards in waves before the energy is unshackled, sending powerful ripples out on to the floor in a manner thats guaranteed to shed inhibitions as well as shoes.
