Behind the Indie Dance : Release Notes

With their new album Sobbing Ecstasy, CAPYAC retrofit their funky nudisco sound into an 80s synth pop aesthetic bringing to life their most thematic album yet. Touching on legacy sounds of Prince, Talking Heads and DEVO blended with modern touches of Empire of the Sun, Daebull and Dadi Freyr, the album, produced by the band and mixed by Nathan Boddy (James Blake, Mura Masa, SG Lewis), sounds at home across nostalgic electro funk or modern electronic playlists alike. The focus track This Tether showcases that balance of classic, acoustic and symphonic before glitching into a full force funky synth pop bop.
