Black Book Records welcomes the return of TOBEHONEST with his new two-track EP, ‘Fallin / Danger’ – a showcase of the LA-based producer’s instinct for groove and rhythm. Following his breakout debut ‘Maquina De Bailar’ on Black Book ID’s: Chapter 4 – a track that became a staple in sets across 2022 and 2023 – along with ‘Where Ya At’ and his recent remix of ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’, TOBEHONEST returns with a refined sound that doubles down on the percussive character defining his style. On the A-side, ‘Fallin’ strikes with a wonky bassline, hypnotic vocals, and a bending metallic lead that keeps tension high from start to finish. With its punching synth work, crisp percussion, and infectious groove, it’s a late-night weapon built for the floor – equal parts attitude, movement, and release. ‘Danger’ – a collaboration with California producer Broken Hill, known for his work with BLOND:ISH – leans into darker indie club tones, fusing jagged synths with a groove that feels both raw and refined. A fitting B-side, it’s dark, driven by a 4×4 groove with crisp hats, and rolling bassline. From Maccabi House to Framework and Mayan Warrior, TOBEHONEST’s presence behind the decks mirrors the drive of his productions. Blending soul, funk, jazz, and Latin rhythm into a dance-forward mix, his music stays rooted in feeling and movement.
