Dis/Connection Joe Metzenmacher explores the conflicting qualities of loneliness and togetherness in a period characterized by constant connection in Dis/Connection. Connection and Disconnection, two contrasting yet linked pieces, are paired in this release to create a dialogue between light and shadow, collective oneness and individual detachment. Connection refers to the alignment pulse, which is a hypnotic rhythmic and dimensional movement that encapsulates the dance floors collective pulse. Its the point of dissolution, where boundaries disappear and presence and sound come together. A track for the peak time moments. In contrast, Disconnection turns inward. The spoken-word performance by Juliet Mendoza touches on themes of introspection, longing, the fragile balance between self and others, while moving between intimacy and distance. She speaks in poetic snatches: I take the rainbow, colours in my eyes, fading into shadows, where the silence lies. This release invites listeners to consider what it means to be genuinely connected, both to yourself and to others. Dis/connection is a movement and a mirror that explores presence, absence, and the liminal areas.
