For their 9th EP, Art Bei Ton is very happy to welcome the talented Portuguese artists Floating Machine and Inerte with their new duo project, fm.i. This six-track journey explores the space between ritualistic rhythms, trippy textures, and hypnotic grooves, drifting into more abstract territories. Opening the EP with an atmospheric track, ‘Tranquilizante’ sets the tone, crafting a dark, cinematic journey through a spacious and trippy sonic landscape that slowly builds up tension. Diving deeper into the shadow, ‘Rufo’ offers a perfect ritualistic drums track, layered with dark pulses and hypnotic bleeps that drive into a tense, rhythm-focused trance state. ‘Sepia’ lifts the energy into hypnotic, trippy techno territory, where psychedelic textures and driving momentum create an uplifting, high-energy release. With ‘Ciano’, fm.i explores breaky rhythms that intertwine with ceremonial percussion, sci-fi textures, and twisted sound design, conjuring a mystical vibe. ‘Sinuoso’ explores the psy-tribe genre with a 170 BPM cut, channeling ritualistic percussion and trancey patterns into a feral, trance-driven journey. Closing the EP, Berlin-based artist Nnamael explores a broken-beat techno version of ‘Sepia’. Dark, atmospheric, trippy, and tense, it’s a great track to open a ceremony.
