Behind the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) : Release Notes
Asymmetric boss Inigo Kennedy returns to his label to kick off another year with a captivating five track EP Unstable Isotopes. Title track Unstable Isotopes brings real machine funk to the front; hard not to move to this one. Second up is Hyperdrive which pushes ahead full-throttle, undulating waves crashing around a simple but brutally effective interplay of two notes. Third track, Propulsion, keeps to the four-to-the-floor but brings more of a rolling Detroit flavour with its uplifting slightly gritty chords. Next up is Dizzy Heights, dense rolling percussion and waves of arpeggios bringing an intense energy to the release before closing track Spectacular closes things out in majestic style; lush, spacious, sentimental electronica tipping its hat to the mid 90s and the future in equal measure.
