Following work on labels including Bait & Aurora, Vysyon label head Night Garden develops his alchemical fusion of abstract atmospherics & hypnotic bass pressure on Gost. ‘Hollow’ emerges shrouded in shifting texture, its protean form centred by entrancing, syncopated percussion. ‘Descending Veil’ expands the sound palette introduced by ‘Hollow’, its unfurling structure revealing eerie microtonal flourishes enveloped in folds of resonant synths. A propulsive energy drives ‘Ceaseless’, its incessant stabs forcing through a molten bed of pulsating bass & rippling pads. ‘Found In Absence’ brings things to a close by reinterpreting earlier material from throughout the EP. A subtle polymeter underpins swirling atmospheres which patiently build in intensity toward the release’s final crescendo.
