Youre So Alien was a seminal 90s techno hit back in the day after grabbing the attention of the legendary Sven Vath. Originally released on Oliver Bondzios Serial Killers Haircut label it was then picked up for wider distribution by Harthouse. A snarling bassline and signature synth melody cemented the track in the minds of those who were present and correct raving some 27 years ago in 1999! Years later Youre So Alien returns to vinyl with 3 passionate re-interprtations of the original. Heavyweight techno stalwart Lee Holman from Ireland throws down a stomping aptly titled Stripped remix. Lee doesnt hold back and things gather pace immediately. The signature riff morphs into abstracted modularity and is offset with wave upon wave of synth pads – all held together by a relentless urgency that never lets up. The wonderfully prolific Johannes Volk delivers his more classic style remix of the original. A cleaner bassline tips its hat to Berkovis track and percussive elements mimic the synth from afar. A journey! Justin himself turns in the anthemic Saturn remix of his own tune. Not allowing the bassline to progress beyond a staccato pulse, the track drives through with deep synth melodies and in true 90s homage rocks some meaty snare breakdowns – a future classic remix of a classic. The original is remasterted here and we couldnt be happier to bring this package out!
