Amsterdams favourite House Goth mayo returns to our imprint with two club-ready earworms. Over the last years, shes been creating a world of her own in which she resists convention in favour of something instinctive and unfiltered, resulting in releases that feel both intimate and volatile. On Prepare To Crash, that vision is pushed further with refined precision. Built around the idea of heartbreak music for the club, she brings to life an EP that is as commanding as it is cinematic. The title track rightfully lives up to its name: thumping, spiraling and eerie, driven by a sharp dose of mechanical muscle. Layered with her own vocals, it results in a pedal-to-the-metal warping stomper. The wheel takes a slightly dreamier turn on the B-side, Neon Oblivion. Led by a thick rolling bassline and an icy snare throughout, the track is crowned by its acid-like twists: high-pitched and hazy elements circle around one another, spread open by a snarling synth that subtly echoes the screaming tension of a heart. On this instalment, mayo once more shows how she moves between intensity and introspection while staying grounded in the club, wrapped up in powerful and hypnotic techno allure. Ace!
