Despite managing a project as heterogeneous as Industrial Complexx, Cortexiphan opens up a new front in the artistic work of Ximo Noguera. His work as a producer had, until now, been limited to collaborations with various record labels, but this album represents a new sonic contribution through his first independent release. Ximo Noguera’s musical evolution has always been in constant development. EBM and late-1980s New Beat shaped his early years as a DJ, but his current tastes and musical preferences have shifted toward more innovative styles, primarily oscillating between industrial and experimental music. This approach is evident both in the musical direction of Industrial Complexx and in his productions. Cortexiphan is a collection of six original tracks, complemented by a version by SOJ. Seven tracks in total faithfully reflecting the artist’s current sonic interests. The album outlines a range of soundscapes that place the listener in different environments. Tracks such as b0t and Kont emerge from an abyssal depth, where low frequencies dominate over the details that frequently surface. Prol is conceived and crafted from a cinematic perspective. Although the final results of Trent, DXKNT, and b1t are entirely different, their origin is explicitly rooted in industrial textures and sequences.
