#87 unleashes Richard Nathans – Mind Control EP, ailing from Amhem, Netherlands. Back in 1993, he dropped the Coma Club LP on DJAX Upbeats. Then, as the scene shifted from underground to mainstream, he stepped away – thirty years of silence. First came the return of the alias. WPA074 – “Down” under his Coma Club banner (2024-08-16) – a beautiful raw beast unleashing powerful 303 basslines and pristine Acid sounds. Then came the transition. WPA078 – Eva Toy, a remix for Doctor Eva Toya (2025-01-31), marked the first release under his birth name Richard Nathans. The bridge between alias and identity. Now comes the first official EP under his own name. WPA087 – MIND CONTROL is Richard Nathans fully realized. Four tracks. Two versions of the title cut. His most personal statement yet. MIND CONTROL (Original Mix) – inspired by creepy tech billionaires and politicians who use social media as a leash. The groove is hypnotic, but the shadow is real. MIND CONTROL (Acid Mix) – the same paranoia, now drenched in squelching 303 worship. Rawer. Meaner. Built for the floor. HD137010B – Transmission, named after a recently discovered exoplanet, cold and hostile. Richard imagines scientists receiving strange, undecipherable radio transmissions from deep space: bleeps, static, noise. Until finally, a message: “This is a message to mankind… you will all die.” They are coming. Cold, vast, and terminal. CULT – a vision of the USA two years from now. Goons gunning down protesters.
