Two label debutants, Slacker and georg-i, join forces to bring us Brittle Forms – a high octane club weapon full of twists and turns. The single is backed by a remix from label mainstay Endless Mow, who flips the track on its head into hazed-out downtempo territory. The original mix opens with a warped atmosphere full of far-out sound design before lurching forward with a bouncing chopped breakbeat. Haunting vocal fragments and a tightly wound melodic line build the atmosphere before the breakbeat gets deconstructed in a tense breakdown. We launch back into the groove with a renewed intensity, keeping dancers on their toes to the finishing line. On the remix, Endless Mow timestretches the hook to half-speed, recontextualising the original tracks urgency as something more distant and melancholic. Dubbed-out trip-hop-leaning drums lay the foundation as Mow adorns the melody with rich harmonics and textural depth, creating a blissful and introspective track perfect for warm-ups, ambient rooms and the after hours. Brittle Forms is available across all digital platforms from May 22nd.
