Behind the Bass / Club : Release Notes
BAGS INC is not just a studio collaboration, it is a real-time extension of Sam Binga and Addison Groove’s long-running creative relationship. The album was built around live hardware jams, instinctive arrangement, and the energy of two producers reacting to each other in the room rather than constructing tracks in isolation. That process gives the project a distinct physicality: it feels raw, human, and performance-led, with the imperfections left in where they add character. The wider campaign will also connect the record to a developing live concept, using the album as the foundation for future BAGS INC performances that translate the analogue studio process into a club and festival environment. For DSPs, this is a project with a clear identity beyond individual tracks: Bristol-rooted, hardware-driven, culture-first club music from two artists with deep credibility across multiple generations of UK underground music. “FKN SRS felt like the obvious place to start with BAGS INC. It’s got that raw machine funk energy that Tony and I were chasing when we went into Devon Analogue, but the vocal and the rhodes add a certain sexiness to it. The whole project comes from us jamming on hardware, pushing things until they started to swing, and trying to capture that feeling before it got too polished. It’s serious gear, serious rhythm, but not taking ourselves too seriously.” – Sam Binga Distributed by Label Engine – www.label-engine.com
